So what is up with the name?

The only difference is in the name. Apple’s new flagship smartphone, the iPhone X, was formally listed as the “iPhone 8” on the Valor website. However, Since the official announcement on September 12th, we have corrected the name from “iPhone 8” to “iPhone X”. So, the good news is, if you purchased a Valor “iPhone 8” case prior to September 12th, it will fit the new iPhone X! Just check out the dimensions below.

Will it fit?

The new iPhone 8 has the same dimensions as the iPhone 7. This means, your iPhone 7 cases will fit the iPhone 8 device. Same for the iPhone 7 Plus and 8 Plus. On the other hand, the iPhone X is different.

How to tell the difference between an iPhone 8 case and iPhone X case?

The most significant change on the iPhone X is the vertical dual-lens camera. Any iPhone case purchased from Valor with a vertical camera opening is made for the iPhone X. Even if the insert says “iPhone 8”.
